MARIE
& AMIR
Besides the usual candid, photojournalistic approach — I knew Marie and Amir to be hilarious and laid back, their close friends too, so I made it a point to show that through the photos we took that day.
Creatively, we had moments of sun but it was primarily overcast, so I leaned into it instead of fighting it: final edits slightly low in contrast but higher in saturation, to the great satisfaction of the couple.
I think it is always funny when couples get comfortable with their photographer to the point where THEY are the ones suggesting silly pics.
We start by increasing exposure and saturation a little, while bringing down the highlights to preserve the detail in the sky.
Then it is a simple adjustment of hue, saturation and lightness for specific colours — mainly the skin tones, the greens and the blues. The final touches are a bit of sharpening and clarity.
